In a few years’ time Sweden will have new banknotes and coins. The General Council of Sveriges Riksbank has decided on the themes, motifs, sizes and colours for the new banknotes and coins. Now there is also an artistic basis for the design of the new banknotes.
Stockholm Design Lab’s proposal made it to the final 8, but sadly didn’t win. The chosen design is far too loud and unrefined—the opposite of Sweden and its culture.
